Porto Rotondo

Recreational Residential Development Lake Conroe, Willis, Texas
Client: Visions of Texas

AWARDED BY THE HOUSTON SECTION OF THE AMERICAN PLANNING ASSOCIATION AS AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF A LONG RANGE PLAN IN THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA.
Lake Conroe, long an attractive destination for both weekend visitors and permanent residents, grows in importance as both a bedroom community and a holiday retreat. Poised to take advantage of the mushrooming popularity and ever-increasing population growth in the region is PORTO ROTONDO, a proposed residential development on 38 acres with an 850-foot waterfront expanse on Lake Conroe.
As envisioned by our team, the project includes a circular, 150-boat marina from which Porto Rotondo derives it name; three mid-rise condominium buildings including a spa and conference center; townhomes located along a nine-hole golf course; tennis courts; canopied boat slips; oversized infinity swimming pool; and two distinctive lighthouses that serve as the symbol of Porto Rotondo.
The unique development in terms of Mediterranean architecture, recreational components and magnificently-designed residences will take full advantage of the area’s many attractions that include boating, fishing, golf, swimming and all manner of water sports.
The property, accessed by 700 feet of frontage on Cude Cemetery Road, slopes gently 50 feet toward the east thereby enhancing the view of the lake from all points on the property. It is located in the municipality of Willis, Texas, in Montgomery County, approximately 50 miles north of Houston.
